Air-dried ginger
Shandong China
20251011
This is bulk fresh ginger for buyers who need a predictable supply of clean, well-graded rhizomes rather than a one-off shipment. The ginger is grown in Ju County, Rizhao, Shandong — the main agricultural belt of the province — on farmland we manage ourselves, then graded by rhizome size, hand-sorted and held in our own cold storage so that packing can be scheduled against your production calendar instead of the harvest calendar.
Two things decide whether a fresh ginger container arrives in usable condition: the maturity of the rhizome at harvest and the temperature chain afterwards. We control both. Ginger is lifted at full maturity when the skin has set, so the rhizome travels with less moisture loss and less shrinkage in transit. From field to cold room the crop is handled without a break in the chain, which is why our buyers receive firm, low-fibre ginger with a clean, pale interior rather than the soft, sprouting rhizomes that appear when a container has been temperature-cycled.
Size grading is agreed before the order is confirmed, not after. Standard export grades run from 50 g to 300 g per rhizome, and we can tighten the band for buyers using automatic sizing or fixed-weight retail packs. Skin condition, freedom from sprouting, and the absence of decay are checked at grading and again at packing.
Because the product is a living commodity, we quote against a named grade and packing format rather than a single generic price. Tell us the rhizome size band, the packing, and the destination port, and the quotation matches that specification exactly — no adjustments after the fact.
Bulk fresh ginger is bought by four types of operation, and each one is buying a different performance:
Foodservice and central kitchens — consistent pungency and low waste after peeling, for daily prep and batch cooking.
Retail packing — uniform rhizome size for fixed-weight trays and mesh bags.
Processing and juicing — high dry-matter rhizomes with clean flesh, for paste, juice, and concentrate lines.
Distributors and importers — a repeatable grade they can re-sell under their own specification.
If your line runs on a frozen input instead of fresh, our frozen ginger granules remove prep labour entirely and hold a 24-month shelf life at −18°C. Buyers running both formats often split volume between fresh for premium lines and frozen for out-of-season continuity. For dry-milled specification, see dehydrated ginger powder.
Standard export packing is 10 kg mesh bags or 10 kg cartons, with vented cartons available where airflow matters. Palletised, mixed-SKU and retail-ready formats are quoted on request.
The minimum order is 1 metric ton for a named grade, which lets a buyer validate quality on a commercial scale before committing to a full container. Container loading is confirmed per packing format at order stage, because mesh bags and cartons cube differently and we would rather give you an accurate figure than a round one that does not load.
We pack and label for your brand rather than ours. Mesh bag printing, carton print, retail label design, barcode and traceability coding, and mixed-variety outer cases are all handled in-house before shipment. Artwork is proofed and approved by you before the first production run, and the approved version is kept on file so that repeat orders match without re-checking.
Sample requests are welcome: tell us the grade and the tests you need to run, and we will send material for your lab before you place a bulk order. Alongside the shipment we issue the commercial documents your customs broker will ask for — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and phytosanitary certificate — and can supply conformity documentation against the certification schemes our plants are audited to: ISO, BRC, HACCP, KOSHER, HALAL, NOP, EOS and AIB. Where your market requires a specific certificate for clearance, name it at quotation stage and it is written into the order instead of being resolved at the port.
Our business spans farmland to packing house: we grow on our own land, grade in our own facility, and hold stock in our own cold storage in Rizhao. That vertical control is what makes an off-season shipment possible at all, and it is why we can hold a specification across repeat orders rather than re-buying on the open market each season. Normal lead time is within three weeks of a signed contract, with a seven-day option when a supply window closes unexpectedly.

We are a grower-packer. Phoenix Food Technology grows on its own farmland in Shandong, grades and packs in its own facility, and holds stock in its own cold storage; the raw-material side and the processing side sit under the same management rather than being sourced shipment by shipment.
Yes. Our plants are audited to ISO, BRC, HACCP, KOSHER, HALAL, NOP, EOS and AIB, and the relevant certificate is supplied with the shipping documents. Tell us at quotation stage which certificate your customs broker requires so it is built into the order.
The minimum is 1 metric ton for a named grade, so you can test quality at commercial scale before committing to a full container. Container loading depends on the packing format and is confirmed when the order is set.
Yes — mesh bag print, carton print, retail labels, barcodes and traceability coding, with artwork proofed and approved by you before the first run.
Yes. Send the grade and the tests you plan to run and we will arrange sample material before a bulk order. Sample freight terms are confirmed at the time of request.
To quote accurately we need five things: destination port, required grade and rhizome size band, packing format, expected volume, and the certificates your market requires. Send them through the enquiry form and the quotation comes back against that specification. Buyers comparing suppliers may find our guide to choosing a fresh ginger supplier from China useful before the first call.
