Dark heavily alkalized cocoa powder is the ingredient buyers choose when the colour has to carry the product. At 10–12% fat and a heavy alkali treatment, it delivers a deep red-brown to near-black tone that survives baking, freezing and dairy blending — which is why it appears in dark biscuits, chocolate-flavoured coatings, ice cream and cocoa premixes rather than in drinking chocolate.
The risk with this grade is consistency between lots. Alkalization is a chemical process, and a supplier running it loosely produces one beautiful lot followed by one that reads purple in a biscuit and forces you to adjust your recipe. The measure we work to is that lot N looks like lot N-1 under the same light, and that the colour is verified on a sample from the actual production run, not from a reference.
Fermented and dried cocoa beans are roasted, winnowed, alkalized, milled and packed. The heavy alkali treatment raises the pH and darkens the colour; the milling determines how the powder disperses.
Two practical choices are made at order stage: the fat band (10–12% for this grade) and the fineness. Finer powder disperses more evenly and colours more uniformly through a dough, at the cost of dusting on the line. If your process is sensitive to either, state it before the order rather than after the first batch.
Dark bakery — biscuits, wafers and sandwich cookies where colour reads before flavour does.
Ice cream and frozen dessert — deep colour that holds through freezing and does not turn grey.
Compound coatings and fillings — colour stable in fat-based systems.
Cocoa premixes — a base for beverage and bakery premix blenders.
Buyers building a cocoa programme usually carry more than one grade. Our natural cocoa powder 4–8% fat, light alkalized 4–8% and alkalized 10–12% grades share the same documentation set and loading schedule, so a mixed container is straightforward.
Standard export packing is 25 kg multi-wall kraft bags with a food-grade PE liner. Smaller bag sizes and big-bag options are quoted on request; nitrogen flushing is available where shelf life in a humid market is the concern.
The minimum order is 1 metric ton, which allows a full laboratory check on a production lot before a container commitment. Container loading is confirmed against the packing format at order stage.
We pack under your brand: printed bags, retail pack sizes for repackers, barcode and lot coding for traceability, and mixed-item pallets for distributors carrying several grades. Artwork is approved before the first production run and kept on file so repeat orders match without re-checking.
Samples are supplied before a bulk commitment — tell us the fat band, the fineness and the tests your lab will run, and we will send material from the current production. Each shipment carries commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and phytosanitary certificate, plus the food-safety documentation for the schemes our plants are audited to: ISO, BRC, HACCP, KOSHER, HALAL, NOP, EOS and AIB. A certificate of analysis covering fat, moisture, pH and colour travels with the lot.
Cocoa is processed and stored at our facility in Ju County, Rizhao, Shandong, with the same QC regime applied to our vegetable lines: incoming material checked, process parameters logged per lot, finished powder sampled before packing. Normal lead time is within three weeks of a signed contract, with a seven-day option when a customer's production window closes unexpectedly. Loading is from Qingdao.

To quote accurately we need destination port, fat band, fineness, packing format, expected volume and required certificates. Send them through the enquiry form and the quotation comes back against that specification.
